Trump-Pfizer Deal Kept Secret, Watchdogs Demand Answers

Critics say the undisclosed $70 billion agreement undermines transparency and shields Pfizer from accountability.

Pfizer’s stock jumped this week after CEO Albert Bourla and former U.S. President Donald Trump announced a deal to lower U.S. drug prices, invest $70 billion in domestic manufacturing and shield the company from tariffs.

Neither the White House nor Pfizer released details of the agreement, saying only that the “terms remain confidential.”

Children’s Health Defense CEO Mary Holland, Esq. said the secrecy “completely undermines” promises of transparency, pointing to Pfizer’s long record of criminal conduct and its role in pushing unsafe mRNA shots. CHD Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker, PhD added:

“There really needs to be a full stop with Pfizer, period. The federal government should be investigating Pfizer, not collaborating with it.”

Watchdog groups Public Citizen and the Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) have already filed FOIA requests to uncover the deal. Attorneys warned it could take years before even a redacted version becomes public.

Meanwhile, analysts told The Wall Street Journal the financial impact for Pfizer is “largely benign,” suggesting the concessions may be more political than economic.

CHD General Counsel Kim Mack Rosenberg summed up the concern:

“When Pfizer’s hidden agreements come to light, they almost never reflect well on the company.”

Until the deal is revealed, Americans are left in the dark about what was promised — and what was sacrificed — in exchange for Pfizer’s protection.
