UN’s “Pact for the Future”: A Threat to Canadian Sovereignty and Health Freedom?

Growing Concerns Over Global Governance Amid CCP Influence

Original report by The Epoch Times

The United Nations recently adopted the “Pact for the Future,” backed strongly by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), raising significant concerns among lawmakers and citizens, particularly in the U.S. The pact aims to enhance global governance through 56 proposed actions, including a Global Digital Compact that seeks to control misinformation and a Declaration on Future Generations focused on climate goals.

Critics argue that the pact undermines national sovereignty and could lead to increased spending on left-leaning priorities, neglecting pressing issues like CCP influence within the UN. Former officials warn that empowering the UN might effectively give the CCP a role in managing global crises, raising alarms about free speech and potential censorship.

For Canada, the implications are profound:

  1. Sovereignty Concerns: Canadians may face pressure to align with international mandates that compromise local decision-making and autonomy.
  2. Health Freedom: The focus on misinformation could impact health policies and individual freedoms, especially regarding public health narratives and vaccine discourse.
  3. Environmental Commitments: Canada’s commitments to the UN’s 2030 Agenda may become more stringent, challenging its ability to balance environmental goals with economic needs.
  4. Geopolitical Dynamics: Navigating relationships with both the U.S. and China will become increasingly complex, as Canada grapples with the growing influence of the CCP in global affairs.

Canada must prioritize its sovereignty and the health freedoms of its citizens while engaging in international cooperation.
