“THE SHOT: Sean Hartman’s Story” Screens Nationwide

The Shot: Sean Hartman’s Story is now screening in communities across Canada, bringing national attention to Dan Hartman’s search for answers after the sudden death of his 17-year-old son, Sean.

The 60-minute investigative documentary follows Hartman’s journey through medical records, expert testimony and legal proceedings, examining the role of the Pfizer COVID shot in his son’s death, and after more than three years waiting for an appeal, Hartman was told to start over, as detailed in recent Rebel News reporting on the case.

Sean died in September 2021, during a time when COVID shots were effectively required for teens to participate in activities like hockey. Since then, Hartman has faced years of delays, ignored appeals and bureaucratic silence under the program’s former private administrator, Oxaro.

On April 1, 2026, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada took over the program, rebranding it from the Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) to the Vaccine Impact Assessment Program (VIAP), promising improved support for Canadians. Hartman says he was instructed to reapply from scratch and resubmit all documentation, with no clear timeline for long-delayed appeals.

At the same time, vaccine injury public data has been quietly removed, and detailed questions submitted to federal officials — including timelines, backlog figures and accountability measures — have gone unanswered while families who were told “We’re all in this together” remain in limbo.

Screenings of The Shot are open to the public with proceeds going to Dan Hartman’s ongoing legal battle.
