RFK Jr. Pushes Back in Second HHS Confirmation Hearing
Challenges Congress on Pharma Ties, Chronic Disease and Vaccine Safety
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s second day of Senate confirmation hearings for HHS secretary was marked by heated exchanges over vaccine safety, chronic disease and government corruption. He made it clear that he wants to follow the science.
He criticized Congress, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, for accepting pharmaceutical industry donations and blamed chronic disease for the nation’s high healthcare costs. Kennedy emphasized the need for transparency and evidence-based science in public health policies, arguing that current agencies neglect chronic illnesses. He also questioned the rising autism rates and government accountability in vaccine safety. Despite opposition, he received support from some senators, including Rand Paul.
A final Senate vote will determine his confirmation.
