NewBrunswick Education minister resigns after 2 failed attempts to violate school children’s protected medical rights
Despite being an education minister with no medical qualifications, MLA Dominic Cardy tried and failed twice to override the Canadian Charter, to impose mandatory medical procedures on school children. Cardy dramatically resigned as education minister after Higgs said he told Cardy that he was going to be removed as education minister. NewBrunswick premier Blaine Higgs later told reporters that Cardy’s performance as education minister was not up to snuff.
