My Pandemic Story: First Do No Harm

On April 18, 2023, the National Post published an article about two physicians in Ontario who had given up their licenses recently because of their opposition to the Covid mandates, masking, lock downs, and experimental mRNA jabs called ‘vaccines’. This criticism of the medical status quo was termed “professional misconduct” and considered worthy of a reprimand. I was one of those physicians.
The Post article accused me of recommending Ivermectin to patients for prevention and treatment of Covid (a drug discredited by the medical authorities). But the truth is I never prescribed it because local pharmacies were reluctant to supply it. (Many people were receiving Ivermectin prescriptions from other countries like India through the internet.)
I was in general medical practice for over 44 years. I slowly shifted into Complementary and Integrative medical practice after five years of conventional medicine. I have published 12 books on natural medicine including the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine and Vitamin D: The Sunshine Vitamin. I resigned my membership in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and gave up my practice certification in November 2022.
I have also published dozens of articles in Vitality magazine since its inception and have given yearly presentations on natural medicine at Whole Life Expo until the pandemic forced a stop to all conferences.
Prior to my work with Vitality, I was the Alive Magazine Advisor and wrote articles for them for over 20 years during the 1980s and 90s.
Approximately 15 years ago the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) began investigating physicians who practice Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), looking closely at their medical records, their prescriptions for natural hormones like desiccated thyroid, and most recently for posts on Twitter and other social media concerning Covid-19.
