Back in the Spotlight: Health Canada Admits DNA Contamination in Pfizer Shots

An October 2023 story from CHD’s The Defender is circulating online again.

It involves Health Canada’s confirmation that Pfizer’s COVID-19 injections contain undisclosed DNA contamination, including genetic sequences not clearly identified in regulatory filings.

Health Canada Confirms Residual DNA

Health Canada acknowledged that double-stranded plasmid DNA fragments were present in Pfizer’s COVID-19 shots, including Simian Virus 40 (SV40) promoter-enhancer elements — sequences known to increase gene expression.

The regulator stated it expects manufacturers to disclose all biologically functional DNA sequences, yet confirmed that Pfizer did not identify the SV40 sequence in its submission. Despite this, Health Canada maintains that the product’s “risk/benefit profile” continues to support its use and that reports misrepresented its position.

Independent Scientists Raised the Alarm

The contamination was first identified by independent researchers, including genomics expert Kevin McKernan and cancer researcher Dr. Phillip J. Buckhaults, who conducted DNA sequencing on vaccine vials.

Their analyses indicated residual plasmid DNA at levels that could exceed regulatory limits traditionally applied to biologic products. Researchers also noted that the manufacturing process used for mass distribution differed from the process used for clinical trial material, increasing the likelihood of residual DNA remaining in the final product.

Dr. Byram Bridle: “An Admission of Epic Proportions”

Canadian viral immunologist Dr. Byram W. Bridle, former professor at the University of Guelph, described Health Canada’s acknowledgement as “an admission of epic proportions.”

Bridle questioned why a biologically functional DNA sequence was not disclosed to regulators and emphasized that Health Canada’s review occurred only after independent scientists publicly released sequencing data, raising concerns about regulatory oversight and transparency. He pointed to Dr. David Speicher’s research.

Links to Cancer Concerns Previously Reported

Scientists have raised concerns about about links between residual DNA contamination, SV40 promoter-enhancer elements and cancer risk. DNA fragments with promoter activity could, in theory, interfere with normal cellular regulation, potentially increasing the risk of genomic instability — a known hallmark of cancer.

While government regulators continue to dismiss these concerns, scientists argue that the presence of biologically active DNA sequences should have triggered far more rigorous investigation, especially given the unprecedented scale of exposure.

Why This Matters Now

Although Health Canada’s confirmation occurred in 2023, it received almost no mainstream media coverage. The story is resurfacing as Canadians revisit unresolved questions about product characterization, informed consent, and transparency.

Health Canada maintains that residual DNA fragments do not pose a safety risk, and that the presence of SV40 sequences does not indicate the presence of the virus itself. Independent scientists disagree, arguing that undisclosed DNA with promoter-enhancer activity should have been clearly identified and addressed prior to approval.

As this story circulates again, Canadians are left with unanswered questions about transparency, regulatory standards and whether informed consent was ever possible.

With billions of doses injected worldwide and millions of people harmed, researchers contend that failures to disclose biologically active DNA contamination have contributed to widespread injury and death — raising questions about accountability and criminal liability.
