Dutch Court Hears Explosive Allegations in COVID Lawsuit Naming Bill Gates

A high-profile COVID-related lawsuit in the Netherlands—naming Bill Gates, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and others as defendants—took a dramatic turn March 9, 2026, as appellate judges heard arguments over whether key expert witnesses should be allowed to testify under oath before trial.

Founder of CoviLeaks, independent journalist and law student Fiona Rose Diamond, who attended the hearing in person at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, described a proceeding that moved beyond procedural arguments into a direct challenge of the official COVID narrative.

The court’s decision, expected April 9, 2026, could determine whether critical scientific and factual claims are scrutinized early—or delayed until later stages of litigation.

Background: Court Allows Case Against Gates to Proceed

As previously reported by The Defender, a Dutch court ruled it has jurisdiction to hear the case against Bill Gates and other defendants—rejecting arguments that the case should be dismissed because Gates resides outside the Netherlands.

The lawsuit, filed in 2023 by seven Dutch citizens, alleges they were misled about the safety and effectiveness of COVID injections and suffered resulting harm.

Defendants include:

  • Bill Gates

  • Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla

  • The Dutch state

  • Government officials and public health authorities

  • Media figures

The case is a civil lawsuit seeking damages and legal accountability, not a criminal prosecution.

Two Interconnected Cases Driving This Landmark Lawsuit

The litigation consists of two closely linked legal actions built on the same allegations and evidence.

The main civil case (2023) was filed by seven individuals who say they were harmed after receiving COVID injections. They are seeking damages and a declaration that the defendants acted unlawfully by misleading the public.

The preliminary evidence case (2025)—the focus of the March 9 appeal—was filed by three additional injured petitioners. It seeks permission for a pre-trial evidentiary hearing, which would allow expert witnesses to testify under oath and be cross-examined before the main trial begins.

Both cases rely on the same core claims, involve many of the same defendants and are supported by the same expert witnesses. The preliminary case is intended to strengthen the main lawsuit by ensuring key evidence is tested early.

Why the Appeal Matters

At the heart of the appeal is a fundamental legal question:

Should courts allow early, adversarial testing of contested evidence—or delay that scrutiny?

If the appeal is granted, expert testimony could be examined under oath before trial, potentially shaping the direction of the entire case.

If denied, that examination may be postponed until later proceedings.

Inside the Courtroom: Narrative vs. Challenge

According to Diamond’s eyewitness account, lawyer Peter Stassen—representing the claimants—argued the case carries “global importance” and accused the lower court of violating fair trial standards by blocking early examination of evidence.

He told the court his clients’ health had been severely impacted following COVID injections and insisted that expert testimony must be heard to properly assess their claims.

Stassen framed the case as a broader challenge to what he described as coordinated actions across institutions, arguing that denying an evidentiary hearing prevents meaningful judicial scrutiny.

In contrast, lawyers for the defendants—including parties connected to the Dutch state and other named individuals—offered a brief and unified response, reiterating that COVID-19 occurred and that vaccines are “safe and effective,” while dismissing the broader arguments as irrelevant to the procedural issue before the court.

Expert Witnesses at the Centre of the Case

A central pillar of the litigation is the testimony of expert witnesses identified by the claimants, including:

According to the claimants, these experts challenge key aspects of the COVID response, including public messaging, regulatory frameworks, and the development and deployment of COVID injections.

  • Yeadon argued the products were harmful by design

  • Sansone described the response as a psychological operation

  • Latypova said the injections were handled as military countermeasures

  • Watt raised concerns about legal frameworks and liability protections

  • Fitts framed the response within a broader global financial system

The appeal will determine whether these perspectives are formally examined under oath before the main trial.

Why Isn’t This Making Headlines?

Despite the global implications of the case—and the involvement of high-profile figures like Bill Gates—mainstream media coverage of the March 9, 2026, appeal hearing has been virtually nonexistent.

At this stage, the proceedings remain procedural, focused on whether expert evidence will be examined before trial. No findings on the core allegations have yet been made.

Still, the absence of coverage raises questions.

A case involving:

  • multiple injured plaintiffs

  • allegations of widespread public harm

  • and defendants spanning government, pharmaceutical leadership and global actors

would typically attract significant media attention.

Instead, reporting has been largely confined to independent journalists and alternative media.

As the case progresses, the question may not only be what the courts will decide—but why so few are reporting on it.

What Happens Next?

The court is expected to issue its written decision on April 9, 2026.

Regardless of the outcome:

  • The main civil case will proceed

  • The role and timing of expert evidence will remain central

  • The case is likely to continue drawing international attention
