Study Links COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines to 113% Higher Risk of Hypothyroidism

A new study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found that individuals who received COVID-19 mRNA vaccines had a 113% higher risk of hypothyroidism and a 16% higher risk of hyperthyroidism compared to the unvaccinated.

The large study, conducted by six researchers from Taiwan, China and the U.S., analyzed data from over 2.3 million people using the TriNetX healthcare database.

The findings challenge previous studies that found no link between COVID-19 vaccines and thyroid disease, as those studies had much shorter monitoring periods of less than two months. Researchers emphasize the need for ongoing thyroid function monitoring in vaccinated individuals.

Experts, including Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., and epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher, warn that these results raise serious concerns about the safety of mRNA vaccines. The study adds to a growing body of research linking the shots to adverse effects.

As concerns grow, some U.S. states and Slovakia are considering legislation to ban mRNA vaccines due to their potential health risks. Newly confirmed HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has pledged to improve vaccine injury surveillance and promote independent research into vaccine-related health risks.
