Over 14 Million Children Worldwide Skip All Vaccines in 2024 — A Growing Global Trend
A new joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF estimates that more than 14 million children around the world did not receive a single vaccine in 2024 — a number unchanged from the year before.
While media outlets present this as a crisis, many parents and health freedom advocates see a different story: a worldwide shift in trust, where more families are making independent, informed decisions about their children’s health.
According to the report, just nine countries — including India, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Ethiopia — accounted for over half of these so-called “zero-dose” children. But the issue isn’t only about access. Even in wealthier countries, confidence in public health messaging is declining.
WHO Blames “Misinformation” — But Parents Are Paying Attention
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus blames “misinformation” and funding cuts for the trend. But families around the world say they are simply waking up — asking questions, reading the science, and refusing to be pressured.
Meanwhile, vaccine coverage for diseases like measles remains well below WHO’s desired 95%, and outbreaks continue, despite decades of aggressive campaigns.
Informed Consent Matters — Everywhere
Health officials call it a “setback.” But at CHD Canada, we see it as a sign that millions of parents are asserting their right to choose what’s best for their children — especially after recent global events have shattered public trust.
We believe every parent deserves:
-
Full information about risks and benefits
-
Freedom to decline without penalty
-
Respect for bodily autonomy and natural immunity
We will continue to advocate for evidence-based choice, transparency and parental rights — in Canada and around the world.
