Consumer Alert: Selina Naturally Celtic Sea Salt Has Extremely High Levels of Lead
Are you using Selina Naturally Celtic Sea Salt?
In June 2024, Selina Naturally Celtic Sea Salt Fine Ground tested positive for 626 ppb* lead. This is extremely high and SHOULD NOT BE CONSUMED.
5 ppb lead (regardless of the serving size for any particular product) is considered unsafe for children. The U.S. Baby Food Safety Act of 2021 set the limit for lead in foods consumed by young children at 5 parts per billion lead.
