Three New Books Exploring Vaccine Safety, Informed Consent and Medical Freedom

As debates over vaccination, informed consent and medical freedom continue across Canada and around the world, three newly released books are encouraging readers to examine assumptions, ask questions and explore perspectives often absent from mainstream discussions.

Together, they explore topics ranging from young adult health decision-making and childhood immunization policies to vaccinated-versus-unvaccinated health outcomes.

Dare to Question: A Young Adult’s Guide to Understanding Vaccination

Published by Vaccine Choice Canada, Dare to Question: A Young Adult’s Guide to Understanding Vaccinationis designed to help young adults navigate one of the most consequential healthcare decisions they may face.

The book argues that many young adults have limited knowledge about vaccination and the illnesses they may encounter. Rather than telling readers what to think, it aims to provide information and critical-thinking tools that encourage independent research and informed decision-making. The guide also explores how healthcare choices can affect education, employment and other life decisions.

Unavoidably Unsafe for Children: A Physician’s Guide to Vaccine Safety, Effectiveness, and Your Right to Choose

In Unavoidably Unsafe for Children: A Physician’s Guide to Vaccine Safety, Effectiveness, and Your Right to Choose, published by Skyhorse Publishing, authors Dr. Edward Geehr and Dr. Jeffrey Barke examine the science, history and policy surrounding childhood vaccination.

Drawing on decades of clinical experience, the authors explore topics including vaccine development and regulation, vaccine mandates, informed consent, pharmaceutical industry influence and the expanding childhood immunization schedule. They also examine vaccine injury compensation programs, vaccine ingredients, Emergency Use Authorizations, mRNA technology and the ongoing debate surrounding vaccine safety and effectiveness.

Written for parents, caregivers and healthcare professionals, the book encourages readers to critically evaluate the risks and benefits of vaccination for individual children. Geehr and Barke argue that transparency, patient advocacy and informed consent should remain central to healthcare decision-making, particularly as childhood vaccine recommendations continue to expand.

The Unvaccinated

The newest book from independent writer Unbekoming, The Unvaccinated, examines health outcomes among vaccinated and unvaccinated populations while questioning many of the assumptions underlying modern immunization programs.

Central to the book is the argument that comparisons between fully vaccinated and completely unvaccinated children deserve greater attention. The author highlights findings from Joy Garner’s Control Group Survey and examines topics including vaccine liability protections, regulatory structures, financial incentives within healthcare systems and historical trends in infectious disease mortality.

The book also includes extensive appendices covering informed refusal, vaccine ingredients, legal developments and vaccine policy. Its final sections challenge foundational assumptions about virology and contagion, presenting arguments that extend beyond vaccine safety and into broader questions about the nature of disease itself.
